Traditional Christmas Pudding (Plum Pudding)
Ingredients
- 12 oz. Breadcrumbs
- 1 teaspoon Nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon Mixed spice
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 8 ozs sultanas
- 1 lb raisins
- 8 oz currants
- 4 oz dates
- 2 ozs Peel
- 2 ozs blanched almonds
- 1 medium grated apple
- 1 medium grated carrot
- 8 ozs moist brown sugar (Barbados)
- 8 ozs suet
- 2 tablespoons black treacle
- grated rind of 1 lemon
- 4 eggs
- ½ pint Barley wine (1 tin)
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
Method
Mix all ingredients together
Add beaten eggs, lemon juice and ale, and then everything else.
Stir well and WISH !
Stand mixture overnight in a cool place.
Next day put in separate basins and boil for 6 hours or pressure cook.
